What is the difference between the 1 Day Emergency First Aid at Work Course and the 3 Day Emergency First Aid at Work Course?
The main difference between the two, apart from the duration, is the amount of detail each respective course covers.
The 1 Day Emergency First Aid at Work Course is the most basic accredited course we offer at First Option, ad is most suitable for people working in corporate, retail, education and low risk sports environments.
On the other hand, our 3 Day Emergency First Aid at Work Course is the most thorough course we have on offer. This course is suitable for industries functioning in a high-risk environment such as construction, manufacturing, sports and warehousing. However, always check your RA.
Course Overview
This course is for employees designated as “Appointed Persons”. Concentrates on resuscitation skills and techniques to stabilise a casualty prior to the arrival of medical aid.

Learning Type: Interactive session utilising multimedia presentation, review of real life incidents, syndicate exercises, group participation and discussion.

Course Content
This course contains the theoretical and practical aspects of Emergency First Aid at Work:
- Communication and responsibilities in an emergency
- Basic life support
- Recognition and treatment of shock
- Management of the unconscious casualty
- Identifying wounds and control of bleeding
Aims & Objectives:
To give an understanding of the basic essentials of Life Support and in the initial overall management of casualties, and pre-hospital care situations.
Qualifications
Level 3 emergency first aid at work (EFAW) certificate, valid for 3 years. We recommend refreshing your skills every 12 months.
