What we do
North Star is a training, safety risk management and equipment provider to the broadcast news, television and film production sectors in the UK. We are the preferred training providers for the BBC, ITN and Channel 4, Channel Five, CBS, CNN, NBC, CNBC, TBS News, Global News, RTE, Volant Media, ARD/NDR, News UK, New York Times, Reach plc, and others. We are an approved hostile environment training provider for the Rory Peck Trust and the International News Safety Institute (INSI).
Who we work for
Since 2021 North Star has been the trusted training partner for the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and other UK Government departments and we deliver Security Awareness in Fragile Environments (SAFE) every week for UK civil servants and contractors travelling to, or posted to, challenging parts of the world. We successfully train well over 3,500 delegates annually in the UK and overseas. We run over 150 courses a year in the UK, and typically 15+ courses overseas in locations such as Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Myanmar, Lebanon, Gaza, Egypt, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Brazil, Afghanistan, Kenya, Tunisia, Nigeria, Ukraine and the USA.
